About COD

Would you like to offer your customers another way to pay?
Do you want to be sure that the parcel is only delivered after it has been paid for? If so, COD is the service for you. We only hand over the parcel to the addressee once the amount you have stated has been paid. Payment is made at the door - fast and efficient. We then transfer the COD amount (minus a 1% surcharge) to your bank account, which saves you considerable bother. For customers with a business contract, we collect COD amounts up to €2,000 directly at the door. For non-contract customers, this is set to a maximum of €1,000,-.

Included in this service is:

• Next-day delivery: we deliver parcels sent from and destined for addresses in the Netherlands on the first working day after the day on which the parcel was tendered, usually in the morning.
• Saturday delivery: we also deliver on Saturday.
• Track & Trace: we make it easy for you to track your parcel online.
• Second delivery attempt to consumer addresses: if there is no one at home to take delivery of your parcel, we make a second delivery attempt later.
• Parcels held for three weeks: if home delivery is not possible, the addressee will be notified that the parcel will be held for collection at the postal office for three weeks.
• Standard Signature on Delivery: the parcel will only be handed over once the addressee has signed for delivery.
• Standard proof of posting receipt: you receive a proof of posting receipt when you tender your parcels.    

How does it work

Extra service
COD Parcels include a number of services:

• 24 Hour Service: Shipments to destinations within The Netherlands are delivered within one working day, usually in the morning. Shipments are also delivered on Saturday.
• Second attempt to deliver to consumer addresses: if the addressee is not at home to recieve the parcel, we will always try a second time.
• 3 weeks retention period: Addressees have a 3 weeks period to pick up the parcel at the Post Office, in case we are unable to deliver the parcel directly to their home.
• Signature on delivery comes standard: The parcel will only be delivered if the addressee has signed for it.
• Proof of shipment comes standard: You will recieve your proof of shipment when you send the parcel.
• Track&Trace: You can easily track your parcel online through our Track&Trace service.

Rates

Provision
For sending a COD we charge 1% provision on the submitted amount. We collect COD amounts up to €2,000 directly at the door.

Parcel contract
If you send over 500 parcels a year and you have a Parcel contract with TNT Post Parcel Service, you can also send COD. Without a contract, you can do this at the local Post Office or TNT Post Service Point.
