Mid-June will see the release of a Parcelware update, offering you new and improved software. Among the enhanced features is additional storage capacity. Preparing parcels has never been easier.

The following improvements have been made:

1. Technical updates
The update to the underlying platform speeds up installation because the .Net Framework is installed on your computer. The update provides support up to 4GB (instead of the previous 2GB), boosting Parcelware’s performance and ensuring faster operation.

2. New sorting centre selectable
TNT Post Parcel Service opened a new sorting centre in Utrecht, The Netherlands. This has now been added to Parcelware with the abbreviation “UT”. If you send a preadvice for this sorting centre and the option “Print sorting centre on the label” is selected, the sorting code “UT” will be printed on the label.

3. Text-based changes
A number of text-related changes have been made in Parcelware 2.3, such as the change to customs forms to enter the value of your shipment in USD or EUR. The selected currency will be printed on the customs forms.

Installation
The problem that sometimes caused a crash during installation has been solved. The SQL installation process is now completed correctly and the database service MS QLSXPACKDB starts up as it should, enabling you to successfully install Parcelware Desktop.

Printing                                                                                                               
It’s easy – printing is done in the same order as in the import file: first in, first out.

Emails (XMailNotifier)
The XMailNotifier no longer sends double e-mails based on the scheduled preadvices. When XMailNotifier generates an e-mail based on the status “Being preadviced” in response to scheduled preadvices or list closure, only one e-mail is now sent out.

File format
Parcelware supports the file format .xlsx (Microsoft Office Excel 2007), making it possible to import other import and cost centre files in .xlsx format.

Waiting shipments
It is now easier to delete imported (waiting) shipments from the database, saving you time.

Label format preview
In the printer settings you can see a preview of the label, which now also takes into account the format you selected in the settings. The label preview can show the label in A4 landscape format.
